Acer Aspire One Netbook

I finally bought a 10inch netbook. An Acer Aspire One, working on XP. Seems to be working fine so far. The only thing that bugs me is the WiFi only connects if the modem is set to Open WEP. While my Nintendo DS only connects to WiFi on Shared WEP. Not a huge deal to change the setting when needed, but it’s annoying. (Nevermind, fixed.)

I think I saw the exact same model of netbook advertised by Office Depot for like $100 off…too bad I missed that sale.

Ya, they're on sale everywhere. They must be bringing out a new model.

I can't seem to let go of having a DVD-rom drive at least. I've been looking at those things for awhile, but, I was more or less wanting one for 1: general webbrowsing on the go and 2: I'd like to play movies.
They've got portable DVD players, and they've got netbooks. Why can't we combine them? I saw the sales too. Kind of thought the same thing "Here's comes the next generation."
I'm hoping for some kind of disc drive.

Well, they'll always be bigger, heavier and use more juice with a disc drive. And they would probably end up costing as much as a small laptop.

Yeh, which of course begs the question, why not just buy a laptop?
I just really want the smaller screen for the smaller overall size. I can plug it in almost any place I'd be using it, I just don't want to have to lug around a 15"+ screen.

You'll pay double for a laptop, minimum. If I were gonna have any use for a laptop, I would've bought one. But I only wanted something not expensive to go online.
