  1. i think k-lite can do it im not sure though
here’s is one i just found for .swf ? .avi
not sure how good it is though http://www.swftoavi.com/

  2. hmm the blog dosent like ascii
    ? = “->”

  3. I just use mencoder.exe. Good ol’ command line goodness; none of the random fluff and crap of a GUI.

  4. swftoavi doesn’t work. The sound is way out of synch.

That’s the reason why I stopped trying to convert Flash to video in the past. For some reason, my movies never convert properly. I don’t know how everyone else does it, but I can’t manage.

  5. IWIsoft has a decent swf converter.

  6. Gonna try that later today. Thanks!

There might very be something wrong in the way I make my movies that prevents them from being properly converted to video. But hopefully not.

  7. The frame rate is a bit choppy, but at least now it’s in synch. Thanks!

  8. I’m usually trying to convert video into flv…

Try dubbing the audio back in afterwards? Once you have video and audio you can use virtualdub or some other to do it

  9. I’m not gonna make the sound mixing all over again.

  10. Depending on what vlash making software your using, most can convert out to video during the creation phase.

I Know flash CS4 and such do this.

  11. But can they convert Movie Clips? (symbols)

  12. Surely if the sound comes out as a whole clip and the video too it’s just a single step? It’s not like adding every voice and effect all over again

  13. I will admit I am not well veresed in using CS4 and looking at it now just gave me a headache, but during the production stage I assume you would choose to save it as an avi instead of swf, then you could compress the uncompressed avi with what ever codec/ contianer you like.

As for already made movies, I assume the process woulkd be similar except you would have to import the video and then choose to save it as an avi.

  14. HentaiKid, the animation without sound won’t run at the same speed with sound.

The problem with exporting directly to Avi is that Flash can’t export Movie Clip Symbols. They come out as static symbols. But I haven’t installed CS4 yet, so I don’t know if it’s fixed. I know it wasn’t on CS1.

  15. But so far IWIsoft seems to work. The frame rate is a bit choppy, which might depend on the computer it’s used on, but at least the audio is in synch. Not quality enough for a DVD, but good enough for YouTube.

  16. you can also use a screen recorder like camtasia or something. just set the framerate from 15 to 24 and youre fine.

  17. Thanks, I’ll try that too.

  18. Well just to get you some more heads up on this CS4 does convert flash video quite good, but any pre done that you re import to the working ground don’t include audio, at least I found it so, but as I say I don’t really know how to use flash. So if you ever upgrade you can do the videos you have made straight into avi, as well as .swf or to what ever format you choose.
