Back from the Comic-con, sort of…

Got Larry Hama signature at the Montreal Comic-con on Saturday. I don’t think he had ever seen a french version of the comic.

I also got Herb Trimp’s, the penciler for the first issue. (and co-creator of Wolverine)

I also got Larry Hama to sign the Miss Dynamite filecards in my book, since he wrote all the bios for the GIjoe figurines back in the days.

Because of a mess-up I only had one hour to sign books at the con. Which is not nearly enough. But whatever, there the book signing at Planète BD this Saturday from 2 to 5pm. And there’s the ExpoZine in a month or two.

PS: Yeah, my comics are pretty far from mint condition, but I don’t collect them for money. (who the hell still does that? I saw a guy with like 10 copies of the same The Flash issue for signing. This ain’t the 90s)

As crazy as it may sound, Sirk, sometimes the greatest ‘badge of honor’ is knowing that your work/talent is appreciated. When you brought in your worn issues of GI*Joe to be signed, I believe that Larry and Herb realized that they made more than a comic book – they made a child’s dream come true.
And, if what you’ve posted here (among other places) is any indication, I’d say that you’ll do the same for other (more mature) comic loving individuals. ^_^
Here’s hoping that your brilliance will never wane (and that your book will sell well enough to encourage an english release). ^_^
I wish you well.

Larry maybe. Herb Trimp, I’m less sure. Long story short, a lot of artists of his generation just stopped getting phone calls when the 90s Image craze started. So he might be a bit bitter about the whole thing.

All the same, **SCORE!!** \^o^/
*remembers his last local Comic-Con*
*where he bought a couple of issues of his favorite comic*
*and the creator was kind enough to sign them* ^_^
*wonders if they’re still in the long box* ^_^U
